Tuesday Tunes
This Tuesday’s tunes share the emotional dichotomy that comes with summer. One is for before the party. The other is best served with a dish of late night melancholy. Continue reading for some summertime funk and dog day blues.
“Dawn Chorus” by Thom Yorke is a hauntingly raw track comprised of a rich synth melody and thoughtful lyrics. The melody, though seemingly repetitive at first glance, builds in a subtle manner that feels like a broken spirit desperately reaching out to the cosmos. Check it out along with his new album, Anima.
Yellow Days’ new track, “Just When”, is the perfect psychedelic romp to get your mood up in the summertime heat. Its percussion forms a danceable bounce that buoys the artist’s wavey guitar riffs. The keys in the track provide a supporting rhythm that accentuates Days’ vocals deliciously, resulting in a sweet-as-sugar amalgamation of sounds.
Happy Tuesday campers. Stay funky.
