Tuesday Tunes: August 7
Hey Tuesday campers. Hope y’all are recovered(ing?) from this weekend’s wanders and flying headfirst into a healthy, happy, hard working week. We’ve got some music for your membranes, and if you’re still tippin around Texas you can catch these bands live.
First off is a Houston-born band making preliminary puddle splashes on the Austin scene. Meet Blue Lacy. These motherfuckers rock. Hard. With only one show and a 4-song EP under their belt, they’re new and wet, but don’t doubt the sonic strength of these bayou boys. Check out their song “Waiting” off of their debut project, Vol. I, and don’t miss their show at this Saturday at Austin’s Whip In. The boys take the stage from 7:30-8:30.
Tuesday Tune two delivers like most bands: a package deal with a frontrunner. Last week Omnian Music Group announced a remix album to HOMESHAKE’s “Helium” and released the first track. We at Culture Capital love nothing more than healthy, intelligent interplay between digital and analog, and HOMESHAKE brings that beauty already by masterfully melding an SP-404 into their sound. This newly announced remix album only furthers their fusion pursuit, and we can’t wait to hear it in its entirety. Check out the first cut- a “Like Mariah” chop by Jessy Lanza, and don’t miss HOMESHAKE in Austin at Mohawk this Friday and in Houston at Satellite Bar on Saturday.
Spread love and music campers, and have yourselves a helluva week.
