FKJ: Is Magic Gone

It’s been a busy start to the holiday season for FKJ (French Kiwi Juice). He signed with a new label, Mom+Pop Music, announced a 2019 world tour, and released a new single.

The tour takes the French producer and singer from Nieuw-amsterdam on February 5, to his closing show in Denver, May 21. He’ll be sure to bring and play his full array of instruments, along with the looping pedals that glue the groove together, and maybe a few of the talented artists (Tom Misch, Madelyn Grant, ((( o ))), Masego) featured on his past projects. We caught him at Vulcan Gas Company on his last tour and highly recommend the experience (two thumbs up and all that).

FKJ - Is Magic Gone

The single, Is Magic Gone, finds FKJ blending bright, pervasive piano with smooth, synthesizer-woven production and airy vocals to weave yet another masterfully crafted dreamscape. His longing lyrics float over bright keys before the song sinks into the sultry bassline, meandering guitar, and dynamic percussion typical of an upbeat nu-jazz/neo-soul groove. FKJ solos skillfully on both the piano and guitar and takes us through a range of emotion and pace to match his instrumental scope. Check it out below, and make sure to catch the multi-talented man, FKJ, in person on his 2019 tour.
