Tuesday Tunes: August 13

Greetings campers! This Tuesday we bring y’all two new songs -both stupendous and relatable- to keep you cool throughout the dog days. Play these tracks as you brush the sweat off your forehead and enter the sanctuary of an air conditioned room. Without further ado, here are this week’s tunes.

“Blame Game”, from mxmtoon’s new EP, The Masquerade (IV), is a heartfelt lovers’ ballad with lyrics that can resonate with almost anyone. The artist’s characteristic ukulele plays over a masterfully crafted trap beat that adds some flare to her existing discography. Mxmtoon’s angelic voice floats over this instrumental like a dove through the sunny skies of August.

Cavetown’s “Feb 14” is a soft and honest indie/folk joint with lullaby-esque sounds that simultaneously improve one’s mood and slow a beating heart. The artist’s vocals harken back to 90s alt rock in a way that induces nostalgia and brings forth emotions of summers past. Enjoy “Feb 14” with the company of someone you love or the comfort of the memories they’ve left behind.
